Ric B. of Greenwood, SC visited TCC on Black Friday to upgrade his phone to the new iPhone 13. When he got the call that he was a Get10Give10 winner a couple weeks later, he couldn’t believe it because he never thought he would win a contest like this.
We select Get10Give10 winners a few times each year – these winners are customers who have recently signed up to receive text message communications. When Ric visited our store he decided to opt-in and was then randomly selected as our big winner! Ric received $10,000 for himself and an additional $10,000 to donate to a nonprofit he cares about. He chose Safe Harbor to receive the big donation, an organization that provides services to victims of domestic violence and their children.
This donation came at the right time for Safe Harbor: the pandemic has been tough on them after experiencing some money cuts made at a federal level. Their shelter is open 24/7. A lot of times the survivors they help arrive without a lot of belongings, so Safe Harbor provides everything they may need.
