We’re committed to supporting our communities year-round through quarterly company-wide volunteer events, employee-sponsored community grants, and local team or individual volunteer opportunities. This summer, the TCC team was busy getting out there and doing good!

NJ/Tri American Cancer Society Partnership
Kayla Thomas and Damien West from NJ/Tri State Region District 6 had the opportunity to serve the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life! This is a partnership that goes back to their Ocean City, Maryland locations and is now active in the Central Delaware region.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature community fundraising event. The event in Central & Northern Delaware brings people together across counties to celebrate survivors of cancer, remember those lost, and raise funds to fight back through research, patient support, prevention, and detection programs.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month Kick Off Volunteer Event
Members of the East IN and SW IN/KY sales regions, Samsung, and Verizon volunteered at Turning Point, one of our More Than a Phone partners, on 9/24 to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This is their 5th year of volunteering. The team sorted clothes and items in their “empower store.”

Continuing Our Partnership with SCAA
Field Trainer Allia P. had such a wonderful time delivering her latest grant. Tammy at the Sussex County Animal Association/Whimsical Animal will forever be grateful for TCC. This round, her grant will be used for a washer and dryer and a heating and cooling unit. She has also built a new kennel to allow for more dogs which they were in great need of. Allia is looking forward to bringing her TCC family to help get the new addition finished.
This nonprofit was a 2024 Rescues Rock $10,000 grant recipient, so we love to see Allia keeping this partnership going!

National Night Out Volunteer Event
National Night Out is an annual event held on the first Tuesday of August to increase awareness for local police departments and the work they do to keep their town safe. The Deptford and Pennsville stores in the NJ TRI region participated in their local events and brought leftover backpacks from their giveaway.

Doing Good With Extra Backpacks
The Centralia, WA, store had some leftover backpacks from their giveaway. Sales reps Anthony R. and Shelby J. volunteered at a back-to-school event at a local sports facility center and donated the remainder of their backpack supplies.

Supporting The Education Partnership
Julia W., Alex H., and Doug H. delivered several cases of backpacks to The Education Partnership that were left over from their giveaway.
Julia presented The Education Partnership with a $5,000 grant. For each dollar received, they are able to give $8 back to Pittsburgh teachers and students in lower income areas. They help by donating supplies, classroom decorations, equipment, and so much more! They also host events and trainings for local teachers. Julia stayed after the presentation to volunteer and updated their chalkboard photo wall.

Sunrise Therapeutic Center Volunteer Event
DM Rebekah C. and the Richmond, IN, team spent some time at the Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Center. They helped brush the horses and cleaned up their housing area.
DM Jason W. invited some of the OH/WV/IN region to gather at the One of a Kind Pet Rescue adoption center where they put together dog food bags, organized, cleaned, and spent time with sweet puppies!

More Than a Moment
We are proud to support More Than a Phone’s first mindfulness retreat, More Than a Moment, at Traders Point Creamery. It was a powerful day filled with inspiration and reflection, including hearing firsthand stories from domestic violence survivors, yoga, meditation, journaling, a silent auction, and farm-to-table meals.

School Rocks Backpack Giveaway 2025
Thanks to our employees’ energy and passion, our 13th annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway was a huge success! Since the start, we’ve been able to donate more than 1.5 million backpacks to students across the nation.
Plus, we crowned our first ever Stuff the Bus winner. During the month of June, five school finalists around the country competed to win a bus full of school supplies. The community that collected the most donations received a bus full of supplies, and all 5 finalists received the school supplies collected during their respective drive. Congratulations to Deans Mill School in Mystic, CT, sponsored by Sea Research Foundation d/b/a Mystic Aquarium and Wireless Zone Groton, CT.

A Circle of Support
From the Boys & Girls Club of Shelbyville: A huge thank you to Tyler C. and TCC Gives for their generous $5,000 grant to help grow our Kindergarten Cadet Room. They helped us get it started, and now they’re helping us take it even further. We’re so grateful for their continued support and for everything Tyler has done for the Club and our kids.
Tyler says it’s an “amazing organization, staff, and leadership! I was lucky to have them as a kid myself, and our kids are lucky to have them now. Thank you for all that you guys do for our community!”

Inspiring Our Young Guests
Jake R., one of the Newberry, SC, Good Ambassadors, signing a kid’s right arm cast. A few years ago, Jake himself hurt the same arm, so he could relate to the kid guest. In those moments, you are more than Jake, you are a kid’s hero, mentor, and role model. Small gestures like this one leave a HUGE impact on people, especially kids. Thank you, Jake, for being that role model.

Lewis Clark Animal Shelter Volunteer Event
The WA/ID District 3 team headed out early in the morning to Lewis Clark Animal Shelter to help clean, set up, and refresh all the cat and dog cages. It was a big job, but they tackled it together. They also had the pleasure of taking the dogs out for some much-needed playtime, which was a blast for everyone! It’s always rewarding to see the direct impact of their work on the animals and the dedicated staff.

Specialized Equine Services Grant Follow Up
Kimberly S. sponsored a grant for Specialized Equine Services so they could purchase a new automatic lift to help people mount their therapy horses. It is amazing seeing the real people that our grants impact. Thank you, Kimberly!!
A note from Specialized Equine Services to Kimberly: we were finally able to use the new automatic lift to help Tommie safely mount his horse! After weeks of weather delays due to storms and extreme heat, we had a beautiful window to get him back in the saddle. Tommie’s smile said it all, and his mom, Rachelle, was absolutely thrilled to see how happy and confident he was. She asked me to pass along her deepest thanks to you and the TCC Verizon team for helping make this possible. Your generous grant didn’t just purchase a lift — it lifted spirits and brought joy to a family who treasures every ride.

Spartanburg Soup Kitchen Volunteer Event
The Spartanburg and Duncan, SC, stores volunteered at the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen. They bagged up dessert, cut vegetables, served plates, and gave bags of food to everyone who came in. Jasire G., Anatto M., and Joseph A. worked with an amazing crew, and they loved seeing all the smiles on everyone’s faces!

Joyful Giving Volunteer Event
The telesales team volunteered with Joyful Giving and filled bags for the Boys & Girls Club in Noblesville, IN. Putting these Joy Maker bags together was a huge hit and something everyone enjoyed!

SNYPA Gets Involved
The SNYPA sales region team organized two big COG events:
Laura C. organized a volunteer event at the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier in Binghamton, NY, a nonprofit they’ve volunteered with many times over the past 10 plus years. The Discovery Center is an interactive children’s museum with over 25 themed exhibits and an outdoor story garden. The SNYPA team worked outside in the story garden for this event.
Malbert C, area sales consultant, took the initiative to help promote and plan a fundraising event for Empower Stride, a nonprofit in Muncy, PA, dedicated to providing social and emotional support to women and children who are victims of trauma or abuse while working with horses. Malbert planned a family-friendly event at the farm to have some fun and also learn about how Empower Stride can help their community. They raised $800 for this amazing organization!

CASA Color Run
Salem, IN, store team members Heather A., Cody S., Brenna R., and Holly R. helped with a color run to sponsor and support CASA in Washington County. CASA is an organization that supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.
We’re proud of our passionate employees who give back to the causes they care about. Learn more about our company’s mission here.
