Good News | Q2 2026

Quarter after quarter, our teams continue making a difference in the communities they serve. These past few months, that impact showed up through local volunteer events, employee‑led community grants, and nonprofit partnerships that address real needs.

June 2026

Turning Point Volunteer Event

The EIN team spent the day volunteering at Turning Point, an incredible organization that supports domestic violence survivors and is a partner of More Than a Phone. They worked incredibly hard and did a ton of organizing to help support the facility and mission. This team provides ongoing support throughout the year for Turning Point.

Run 2 Save Our Youth 5K

The District 10 MI/IN sales region team participated for the fourth consecutive year in the Run 2 Save Our Youth 5K, hosted by the Livonia Save Our Youth Coalition and the Livonia Police Department. This event helps raise awareness and supports programs focused on the health, safety, and well-being of young people throughout their community. They are already looking forward to next year’s race! Volunteers included Lawrence A., Haley R., Angela L., and Charmaine A..

For Lawrence, one of the coolest parts was that his son completed his very first 5K during the event. By the time Lawrence crossed the finish line, his son was already done and waiting on him. Proud dad moment.

Rest Recovery Volunteer Event

At an elevate training class in Sun City, AZ, they volunteered with Rest Recovery and made care bags. Rest Recovery is a treatment program that specializes in providing highly individualized care for mental health, trauma, and substance abuse disorders.

Shenandoah Food Pantry and Check Presentation

Shelley V. stopped by Shenandoah Food Pantry, her local food pantry where she volunteers weekly, and delivered their $5,000 grant. These funds will help them purchase their most sought-after food items, protein and canned goods. About 400-500 people will directly benefit from Shelley’s grant!

Rescues Rock Update

The numbers are in! Your Rescues Rock pet adoption events helped 78 animals get adopted, with an additional 86 applications submitted for future adoptions. To make an even bigger impact, we also randomly selected three animal rescue organizations to receive a $10,000 grant. Congratulations to Happy Tail Rescue in Terre Haute, IN; Warwick Humane Society in Newburgh, IN; and Animal Shelter of NE Nebraska in Norfolk, NE!

Clean the World Volunteer Event

Florida leadership came together in support of Clean the World, a nonprofit organization based in Orlando dedicated to serving our underserved communities. Together, they assembled care packages for individuals experiencing homelessness using supplies donated by local hotels. Each package included soap, shampoo, lotion, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a razor, and a washcloth, thoughtfully sealed with a handwritten note of encouragement to spread hope and kindness.

Rescues Rock

Another incredible Rescues Rock event in the books, made possible by your dedication and teamwork. A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up and played a role in bringing these in-store pet adoption events to life, from planning and setup to engaging with customers and supporting our rescue partners! Your commitment truly makes a difference.

South Jersey Field of Dreams Volunteer Event

Some NJ Tri stores came together and used their volunteer hours to help some amazing children play baseball. The team volunteered with South Jersey Field of Dreams, a local nonprofit where physically and mentally disabled children and adults can come together to play baseball.

The Discovery Center Volunteer Event

The SNYPA District 1 team partnered with their grant recipient, The Discovery Center in Binghamton, NY, for the 11th consecutive year.

Together, they helped prepare the Story Garden for the season, a space that is entirely volunteer-run and free to the public. The team assisted in completing key updates, including installing rubber playground mulch to create a safe fall zone around the new Rockin’ Glide Dinghy Boat.

April 2026

Spencer Pride Grant

SAGE employee resource group presented Spencer Pride with their $10,000 grant. This funding will be instrumental in their ongoing rehabilitation work of their historic commUnity center to prepare the space for its amazing new chapter as a learner center. SAGE has been involved with Spencer Pride by hosting a booth at their Pride festival.

Evansville Grants

Shantell H. helped nonprofits Newlife and Y&E receive Q1 grants. The Evansville, IN, team presented the big checks to these organizations and did a good event at Y&E. Shantell says that these grants are going a long way for the two stores’ reputations in the Evansville community!

Operation Prom Time

Tyasha A. volunteered at Operation Prom Time, an event helping young girls step into their dream prom attire, including dresses, shoes, jewelry, and purses. This is always a free event of the young ladies; they just have to register and show up, and the community takes care of the rest. It was a blessing to see so many hearts come together for such a meaningful cause.

Charleston Fishing Families Support

Mike L. sponsored a grant for Charleston Fishing Families, a nonprofit in Coos Bay, OR, that has a mission to support commercial fishing families in their community. The Charleston Fishing Families team has been busy funding licenses, emergency gear, and prepping for events, including their annual Easter egg hunt that the TCC team volunteered at.

Midwest Food Bank Event

The NES All Stars went to Midwest Food Bank and boxed up over 2,100 jars of beets. This region has supported Midwest Food Bank for years through various volunteer events.

Joyful Giving Event

The PA/NJ sales region, Jeff F., and Verizon gave back to one of their local nonprofit partners, Joyful Giving. This organization focuses on providing bags of essential items that look and feel like gifts to those in need.

Supporting Terre Haute

Keziah W., Ben F., and Cody M. visited the local Terre Haute History Museum and spent a morning volunteering with them and learning about the history of Terre Haute, IN.

Turning Point Domestic Violence Center Grant

The East IN sales region had a check presentation with Turning Point Domestic Violence Services in Columbus, IN. Sara V., Ragan S., and Dylon I. presented this grant that will aid in security services for the shelter. Turning Point was extremely grateful to be able to upgrade their cameras to keep their staff and clients safe. East IN will be volunteering next month to continue their ongoing relationship with this More Than a Phone partner.

Crossing Bridges Therapeutic Riding Center Partnership

Oregon Good Ambassadors Mike Li. and Taj R. spent some time volunteering at Crossing Bridges Therapeutic Riding Center with Daniel M. They received a tour, groomed and fed the horses, and mucked stalls while watching riding lessons for students, including a lesson for Mike’s adopted son Marcus who will be a student!

Crossing Bridges has helped hundreds of children and adults with disabilities over the years by providing therapeutic horseback riding lessons combined with caring for the horses, integrating learning and behavioral games as part of their lessons. It was a special day of volunteering, family time, and seeing good people doing great things for their community.

Prince of Peace Catholic Schools Grant

Sara V. was honored to represent the East IN team with a grant presentation to Prince of Peace Catholic Schools in Madison, IN. This grant funded the wrap on their new school bus and resource officer vehicle.

Little White House Event

The NC/SC/GA sales region volunteered with Little White House for their Autism Awareness 5K in Simpsonville, SC! This region provides ongoing support to the Little White House, a nonprofit that provides meaningful, developmentally appropriate opportunities that empower children on the Autism Spectrum to reach their full potential.

Hamilton County Humane Event

Store Support rolled up their sleeves and helped the team at Hamilton County Humane clean the shelter so it’s ready for the public. They were able to get the tasks completed in a couple hours that normally takes the Humane Society team a week to complete while also trying to support their animals.

Dove Women’s Recovery House Event

The SW IN/KY sales region partnered with Dove Women’s Recovery House, a local nonprofit that provides housing and support for women in recovery so they can be substance-free, self-sufficient, and healthy. Our team hosted an art therapy session centered around the theme “still becoming.”

Everybody created a piece reflecting where they are in their journey and where they’re going. It was such a powerful reminder that growth isn’t linear and everyone is continuously evolving. Moments like these are such a good reminder of the impact we can have beyond the store.

Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank Volunteer Event

The E OH/PITT sales region team had an amazing day volunteering at the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank! This nonprofit ensures that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one. They work with a network of 1,000+ partner agencies across the 11 counties they serve to not only make sure no one has to go hungry, but also to stabilize lives and confront issues of chronic hunger, poor nutrition, and health.

Shenandoah Community Food Pantry

Shelley V. volunteered with Shenandoah Community Food Pantry. They stocked shelves and weighed all the items. This organization serves Shenandoah and the surrounding counties, providing food, clothes, and essential items.

FCHSA Vaccination Clinic

The spring Franklin County Humane Society animal vaccination clinic was a success! Whitewater Valley Gateway Park saw an endless line of vehicles all afternoon and our volunteers enjoyed the opportunity to help.

Ragan S., Brian H., Dylan H., Matt M., Shane M., and Shawn M., along with volunteers from FCHS and the local community, helped over 150 dogs and 30 cats get their necessary vaccinations.
