Doing good is part of how we do business. Through quarterly volunteer initiatives, employee-sponsored community grants, and local nonprofit partnerships, our store teams continue to make a positive impact in the communities they serve. They started the year by stepping up in a big way through volunteering their time, energy, and heart to support causes that matter locally.

Second Harvest Food Bank Event
Isaiah S. put on a wonderful event with Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans. They filled boxes and loaded 15 pallets full of food for lower Louisiana. It was a truly impactful event.

Dress for Success Event
Our E AZ/NM/UT and AZ/NM/TX sales regions came together again for a powerful day of volunteering with one of their longtime nonprofit partners, Dress for Success. Dress for Success is a remarkable organization dedicated to empowering individuals on their path to economic independence through career coaching, resume support, financial literacy training, and professional development.
They’ve partnered with them for several years now, often through their annual Gala, but this visit was extra special. They had the chance to tour their beautiful new building and warehouse, getting a firsthand look at how they are expanding their reach and impact in the community.
During their time there, they helped organize and sort clothing donations in the warehouse, ensuring clients and workers can access high-quality, professional attire with ease. They also had the meaningful opportunity to participate in mock interviews, offering encouragement, feedback, and support to individuals preparing for their next big career steps! It was a day filled with teamwork, connection, and genuine purpose. They all left feeling grateful, not only for the experience but for the continued partnership with such an inspiring organization.

AOA Supports Theatre Horizon
The Arts & Outdoors Adventures employee resource group volunteered and watched the opening night of XOXO at Theatre Horizon. They received a tour of the theatre and witnessed the new and improved inclusive dressing room as well as their sensory space for anyone including those on the autism spectrum. Theatre Horizon is a big part of the Norristown, PA, community, providing a safe space for arts enthusiasts and drama programs for those on the autism spectrum. The XOXO show featured amazing singers, musicians, and magic.

AOA Coat Drive
The Arts & Outdoors Adventures employee resource group visited The Education Partnership, a local nonprofit they frequently support, and dropped off over 300 lbs. of winter gear and coats, as well as a donation of $300 to help purchase more coats and gear for children in Southwestern PA. The Education Partnership provides supplies for under-resourced schools – teachers in the area go “shopping” and fill up carriages of donated items they can take back to their classrooms. Over 70% of Pittsburgh is considered under-privileged, so every dollar makes a difference!

Angels in Motion New Hire Event
At the new hire kick off meeting for the NJ Tri and DE/MD/VA sales regions, they got together and shared the love of TCC. During these new hire events, they always include an hour of good. This meeting, they packed blessing bags for Angels in Motion, a local nonprofit they frequently support that supports those struggling with substance abuse.

Greensburg Bread of Live Event
The E IN sales region was honored to support the Greensburg Bread of Life Turkey Noodle Dinner, a vital community fundraiser that directly supports their mission of “faithfully working together to provide a free meal to those in need.” This event offers a unique opportunity for the community to gather and give back while raising the essential funds required to serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness. By participating, they helped ensure that Bread of Life can continue providing nourishment and hope to those who need it most. The E IN region provides ongoing support to this local food bank, including volunteering at this fundraiser every single year.

New Life Fellowship Volunteer Event
All NE IN region district managers, field trainers, and Verizon support volunteered at New Life Fellowship, a local food ministry in Huntington, IN, that provides roughly 100 meals each day to members of the community who are in need. During their time there, the team helped with a variety of facility improvement projects, including cleaning and organizing the kitchen, dining room, parking lot, and exterior areas; moving kitchen equipment; and unbolting, repositioning, and re-bolting seating along the front of the building to create a safer and more functional space.
The organization does incredible work serving the Huntington area, and they were grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand and support their mission.

PAWS Across Pittsburgh Event
The Mt. Lebanon, PA, store did an event for an animal rescue charity, PAWS Across Pittsburgh. They had local pet stores donate bags of treats and toys, and TCC donated more toys and provided the space in our Mt. Lebanon store location. They were able to secure 3 dogs’ adoptions that day and collected almost $300 in donations for the animal rescue.

Versiti Blood Center Gift
Former TCC CIO Frank Gumino and TCC Gives donated to Versiti Blood Center of Michigan so they can save even more lives. After Frank’s daughter was diagnosed with leukemia at age 11, he watched his daughter go through countless transfusions thanks to generous blood donors. He was inspired to pay it forward and support Versiti and their mission. He and TCC Gives helped fund a new Alyx machine which allows donors to donate double red blood cells each visit, increasing the impact of their donation.

DE/MD/VA Monthly Meeting Surprise
There have been a lot of changes in the DE/MD/VA sales region, so it was a perfect time to have the leadership team connect and do some good together. They showed up to their meeting only to be told to pack up and jump into the van! They had no idea what their day was about to turn into. They decided that the team needed some fun, so off they went.
First stop – sweets! Zach Hess took them to his favorite pastry place to sweeten up the morning with delicious snacks. They then headed to have some fun at a virtual reality team builder! After their fun, Zach presented the DM of the Year awards, but the excitement didn’t stop there: in true TCC fashion, they headed to one of our nonprofits, The Shepherd’s House, where they were able to help serve dinner to the unhoused in their community. What an amazing day!

Grand Opening Donation
The Owensboro, KY (Mt Moriah) store was fortunate to have the opportunity to donate $500 to a local nonprofit, and they chose HL Neblett Community Center. This is a nonprofit daycare that serves families in their community, and it is a cause that is very close to District Manager Alexis O’Bryan’s heart. She has been personally involved with this organization for many years and has seen firsthand the impact they make on children and families every day.

Ronald McDonald House Volunteer Event

Angels in Motion Volunteer Event
Brandy H., Moustafa H., and members of Brandy’s family had the opportunity to present Angels in Motion with the grant check that was submitted on their behalf. This grant will support a wide range of needs, including improvements to the organization’s new office space, vehicle maintenance, assistance with getting individuals into treatment, supplies for blessing bags, and support for their monthly outreach events.
In addition to the grant, they donated 100 pairs of socks and 200 individually wrapped snacks, and volunteered their time by helping with setup, food distribution, and cleanup for Angels in Motion’s monthly Lunch in the Park. During this event, they were honored to serve meals to more than 150 individuals in need in Atlantic City, NJ. The day also included clothing donations and haircuts for those attending.

Built Together
Kayla C. stumbled upon Turning Point Ministry right at the organization’s inception and has created a wonderful connection with them. She helped them receive a $10,000 grant, which helped them purchase a van! Kayla knows that this has become a lifetime partnership with lifetime friendships, and she can’t wait for what’s to come!

Teachers Rock
Thank you for helping us show appreciation for teachers! Each store received a budget to give back to teachers in any way – some bought school supplies, others bought self-care items or delivered treats. All employees also had the opportunity to nominate a teacher who made an impact on them to receive a cozy blanket, plus their nominated teacher had a chance at winning a $1,000 gift.

Tacoma Rescue Mission Volunteer Event
WA/ID sales districts 7 & 8 linked up and went to show some love to their longtime community partner, Tacoma Rescue Mission. They prepped food, rolled up silverware, served, cleaned, enjoyed fellowship with each other and those they served.

Cocktails & Caregivers Volunteer Event
Holiday sales contest winners, Regional Directors, Area VPs, and Store Support teams came together to do some good with Cocktails & Caregivers. Together, they were able write encouraging notes to caregivers and pack 400 kits with coloring books and pencils that will be distributed in partnership with Community Health Cancer Centers in the Indiana area. These kits give caregivers the ability to take some time for themselves and gain access to resources that may help them and their families along in their caregiving journey.
