January is National Mentoring Month, a time to drive meaningful change for young people and raise awareness about the power of relationships. TCC is proud to participate in this month and shine a spotlight on our partner, DREAM Alive!
DREAM Alive is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit that seeks to end the cycle of poverty by mentoring local youth in 7th – 12th grade to develop career paths and become civic-minded leaders. Through partnerships with schools, communities, and corporations, DREAM Alive provides their mentees with three key opportunities: career-focused experiential learning, mentoring relationships, and character development.

- 100% high school graduation rate
- 89% go to college, the military, or a career immediately after graduation
- 69% are in a 4-year college with a full scholarship
TCC and DREAM Alive’s Partnership
TCC has been a DREAM Alive corporate partner for the last three years. Our Store Support headquarters and field team host annual events to share more about how their education will be used in their future careers. Some of their students also visit our offices and shadow in various departments. A previous DREAM Alive student is now in college and has been hired as an intern in the marketing department! In 2020, we won the “Scholars Choice Award” from DREAM Alive. After their students visited 15-20 companies, they voted on their favorite company, and we were chosen!
This past year, we brought all the scholars back to our Store Support headquarters for a career fair to learn about all of our different departments. They had a busy day learning about security, supply chain, human resources, website development, training, finance, and designing backpacks for our annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway. They also visited one of our retail locations to learn about our tech and how to successfully pitch and sell different products. We also participated in a number of other fun events throughout 2022, like the Dream Shopping Event and Dream Christmas.
